What did Christ accomplish on earth?
Question: “What did Christ accomplish during His time on earth?”
To demonstrate God's Love
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10).
To reveal the Father
No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him (Matt. 11:27).
To show the way to God
I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me ( John 14:6).
He came to save the lost.
For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost (Matthew 18:11).
…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28).
To seek the lost
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).
To preach the good news
I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent (Luke 4:43).
To provide a pattern of holy living
Since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps (I Peter 2:21).
To bring division
Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. Between those who believe and those of the world (Luke 12:51).
To do the will of the Father
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me (John 6:38).
To testify to the truth
for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me (John 18:37).
To fulfill the Law and the Prophets
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them (Matt. 5:17).
To give life
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullness (John 10:10).
To become a high priest
For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins
of the people (Heb. 2:17).
To proclaim freedom for believers
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed (Luke 4:18).
To bring judgment
For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind (John 9:39).
To call sinners
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners (Mark 2:17).
To die and destroy Satan's power
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death-
To destroy the devil's works
The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work (1 John 3:8).
To atone as a high priest for sin
…he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people (Heb. 2:17).
To prepare the foundation for His church
…that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem (Luke 24:47).
