Is it God’s will to heal me?
Question: “Is it God’s will to heal me? Does God prefer me to be sick or healthy?”
Lets learn the answer to this question by inspecting the character and intent of God through His Word.
The Bible says that every word shall be established with two or three witnesses. Lets look at the testimony of Isaiah, Matthew, and Peter.
Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our disease; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-
This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: He took our illnesses and bore our diseases (Matthew 8:17).
Matthew confirms Isaiah, saying that Jesus literally took upon Himself our illnesses and diseases.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed (1 Peter 2:24).
Jesus not only redeemed us from sin but also from sickness.
And God tells us in Exodus For I am the Lord who heals you (Exodus 15:26).
God’s Word is His will. We can correctly say that His Holy Word is God speaking to us. We can know God’s Word by inclining our ear to God’s sayings.
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20. 22).
Jesus wanted to heal. Then a leper came to Him … saying, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus … said to him, “I am willing; be cleaned” (Mark 1:40-
Jesus wanted to heal while on earth and He is unchanging, He still wants to heal today. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8).
Since Jesus healed the sick and He only did what the Father told Him, then it must also be the will of the Father to heal the sick. As it is the will of the Father to heal the sick, it is His will to heal you.
Healing is one of the promises of God. When we act by receiving God’s promises in faith, we release the power of God in our life.
His Word is life and healing to those who listen to God’s Word. God wants you healed, but you need to listen and believe in faith that it is God’s will for you to be healed.
Remember, But as for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s Word is flawless (Psalm 18:30).
