What does God want from me?
Question: “What does God want and expect of me as His child?”
We may often question, “What does the God and creator of the universe want with me”. What can I possible offer God?

The first step in answering this question is to realize just how much God loves us, …for God is Love (1 John 4:7). …and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). He demonstrated His great love for us by sending His only Son to take our sins upon himself and die the death that we should have died.
Just think about it, with all of God’s love for Jesus, He still sent Jesus go to the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and to set us free.
It is because of God’s great love for us that He wants a relationship with us. A relationship of love. When we love God, we trust Him, we want to obey Him, and we want to please Him. When we love God, we strive, with His help, to live an obedient, holy, righteous life.
To have a relationship with God and others, we need to operate in Godly love.
Its very simply, God wants a loving relationship with you were you trust Him with your life, your obedience, and your love. Where He is more important than anything else in your life.
How important is love to God? Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these (Mark 12:30-
In the garden, God walked with Adam and Eve, in a loving relationship. In a similar way that you likely walked with your spouse while courting. That is what God wants. A deep, loving relationship were you so love Him that your greatest desire is to please Him.
Micah 6:8 provides a similar perspective, And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
No matter what your problem is,” if I could talk with you, I would tell you the greatest truth you will ever hear: God loves you more than you can imagine. Don’t throw God’s love away, rather give Him your love.
When asked, many Christians will say, “I have a great relationship with God. He is very important in my life”. While most of us may mouth such words and some may even believe they are true, are they? How much time do you spend with God each day? How often during the day do you say, “Lord, What should I do, what choice should I make, what is the best way to complete this task?” Is God really the most important consideration in your life? Is He first in your life? A test is answering the question, who or what is most important in your life?
Many falsely believe that the more they do for the Lord, the more pleased He will be. But much more important than work is love. Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams (1 Samuel 15:22). Working for the Lord is not nearly as important as being obedient to the Lord.
It is God’s desire to bless you, opening the flood gates of heave to those who love and follow Him.
When you truly love God and put Him first, every thing else falls in line and is completed.
