What of God’s Promises?
Question: “What are some of God’s promises that His children can stand on?”
There are over 3,000 promises in the Bible. Some promises are blessing to believers that are obedient to God and other promises are about the outcome of those who refuse to obey God. The promises of God reveal His eternal purposes to which he has unchangeably committed His Word and upon which believers can totally depend. Christians gain God's promises by obedience and faith.
The following provides promises that we often desire, but lets first review a few passages about God's view of His Word.
God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it (Numbers 23:19)?
No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back one word of what I said (Psalm 89:34).
Not one word has failed of all his good promise, which he spoke by Moses his servant (1 Kings 8:56).
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up (James 4:10).
And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shall glorify me (Psalms 50:15).
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound (Isaiah 61:1).
If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36).
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1).
Deliverance from demonic harassment
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name (Psalms 91:14).
And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour (Matthew 17:18-
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God (Psalm 43:5).
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall (Psalm 55:22)
The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles (Psalms 34:17).
Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses (Psalms 107:13).
I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27).
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all (Psalm 34:18-
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Everything is possible for him who believes (Mark 9:23).
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him (Romans 15:13).
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-
And this is the promise that He has promised us-
For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children (Isaiah 49:25).
But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God" (Luke 18:27).
Honor your father and mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God gives you (Exodus 20:12).
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers (Malachi 4:6).
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).
But the loving kindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments (Psalm 103:17-
But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever (First Timothy 5:8).
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands... Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid (Psalms 27:1)?

For I the Lord your God will hold thy right hand, saying unto you, Fear not; I will help you (Isaiah 41:13).
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears (Psalm 34:4).
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).
A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich (Proverbs 10:4).
Wealth gained hastily [fraud] will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it (Proverbs 13:11).
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need (Malachi 3:10).
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they (Matthew 6:26)?
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38).
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Strength to do God's will

He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength (Isaiah 40:29).
And let us not be weary in doing good: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
Second Coming and Resurrection
Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth-
