What Does the Bible Say About Sex Before Marriage?
Question: “What does the Bible say about sex before marriage? Is sex before marriage acceptable to God?”
The apostle Paul states that sex before marriage is considered sexual immorality and that the cure is marriage. But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband (1 Corinthians 7:2).
God who created marriage in Genesis, also created sex for marriage. Sex outside of marriage leaves God out of the picture. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh (Ephesians 5:31). Notice the sequence, a man leaves his family, is married to his wife and then they have sex. And those who commit sexual immorality as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:21.
Marriage is sacred and sex before marriage is a sin.
